Safeguarding

At the Shore Community Church we recognise our responsibilities in safeguarding all children, young people and adults at risk, regardless of gender, ethnicity or ability. We are committed to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of all associated with this church and will pray for them regularly. In pursuit of this, we are committed to the policy below (click to download!) and to the development of sound procedures to ensure that it is implemented well.

Aside from this general policy, read out and agreed to at every AGM and freely available in the church for all, we also have an internal policy available for all involved in children’s/young people’s work, leading pastoral/wellbeing work etc. These people also go through regular thorough safeguarding training and all the necessary DBS checks are of course always performed. We have safeguarding officers as part of our team (see the Staff and Leadership page!).

We also encourage anyone with any safeguarding concerns, whether for a child or vulnerable adult, to report them in confidence at their earliest opportunity to the appropriate person (again, see the Staff and Leadership page).
